REDNECK FLY SWATTER

Now just what is a redneck fly swatter?

I have no clue...But I know someone who can make you one if you have a fly problem.
ITS HOT in Ga...And the electricity bills soar like the temp. Higher and higher. Wish it was just the opposite for winter, temp goes down and so does the bills...YEAH fat chance of that ever happening.

Anyways, to compensate for a hot day last week I left my front door open....Now I live in a hayfield...Straight across it there is a road and on the other side of that road is a dairy cattle farm.

OK it does not take a genius to figure out the math on the odds of a hot day and open doors leading to a fly infested house....I HATE FLIES...Worse I hate flies stuck to a sticky tape hanging from my ceiling. That's just nasty...So since I don't have the sense or the cents to buy a screen door right now I must deal with flies...

Here is the catch....even though a fly swatter is like 98 cents you have to leave home to buy one or deal with flies till you get one....I am certain there is some home remedy to get rid of flies... I have tried a bag of water over my doorway. Something about the reflection keeps them out. Not outta my house it does not. Anyone have luck w/ that? Maybe I used the wrong bag? Zip lock right? I hear it works but uhhhhh STILL get flies....So anyone have a solution? Id love to know. Till then Imma use a redneck flyswatter.

No, its not a rolled up paper. That was my version of a redneck flyswatter. Then I was learned, schooled, in the art of flyswatter engineering by a redneck engineering fool I now call Trapper.
He is a fly killing machine no doubt. Darn Scrait! Anyways on to the goods.

REDNECK FLYSWATTER

what you need:

1. Most prized possession of a redneck....roll of DUCT TAPE

2. large paint stick....(stirrer)

3. cardboard swatch

That's it

Lets see....

Cardboard Swatch taken from a cardboard target, where else would a redneck get his cardboard? Note that the cardboard swatch should be a lot smaller than in image...I am guessing at 3 inches by 3 inches should be enough.
(now you could just shoot the flies if you were that redneck and you could kill two birds with one stone...A new wall treatment and a few cool air holes to vent heat from the house, not a suggestion though)

Every red neck knows what a roll of duct tape looks like I mean come on! (no pic of that)

Cut about (6) 5-6 inch strips of duct tape.
place cardboard swatch about 1 inch from bottom of first piece of duct tape and tape it to the end of the long paint stick. Flip and cover with a second piece of duct tape. Over lap that by about 1/4 to 1/2 inch with third piece, flip and cover the sticky side with another and do that step for the last two pieces as well.

What it looks like when done

How well does that work?
Well just ask the flies....
There were FIFTY! in my house within an hour..That is 50!!! OMG!
