An Easter not soon forgotten

OK, I know Easter is meant for egg hunts and church gatherings, well mine this year was spent doing what I do best. I am certain its an Easter that at least my oldest son Dakota will not soon forget. We went on a nice hike by an unsuspecting little creek in the mtns. It was beautiful and the creek was full from all the rain that we had had in the previous week or so.

There was a wonderful waterfall at the end of our destination and even though it was frigidly cold my oldest had to against constant warnings take the plunge....Let me tell you that boy came out of the water almost as fast as he jumped in but I am certain more alive than he had felt in a while.

My youngest two stayed behind fishing with their uncle and nephews because the trip was too much for them that day. YES fishing on Sunday and Easter Sunday at that...Oh well. My sis joined us on the hike but both me and her had enough sense to stay out of the water. Even my dog Axel came along. He is definitely a hiker, loves the woods so much so that every time I crank my truck he thinks he is going on an adventure and tries to jump in with me.

(I don't know, I have no clue. When I am alone in nature my thoughts just lead to you)
